Hooray for driveway sealant improvements

It was great to read about the nation's largest driveway-selaing company, Jet-Black, deciding to stop its using coal-tar-based sealants.  These sealants were releasing chemical pollution into the stormwater system and ending up contaminating ponds and rivers. The coal-tar-based sealants degrade into polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are linked to cancer.

Co-owner of Jet-Black, Nick Kelso, understood that coal-tar products were emitting pollution based on scientific evidence.  Hats off to Mr. Kelso and others at Jet-Black for their efforts to reduce water pollution.
