The pictures above are of a plant commonly known as Goatsbeard or Salsify. It often grows along roadsides and is thought by many to be a weed. But what a beautiful weed she is!
Speaking of weeds, I just discovered a new definiton from Emerson, which I'm paraphrasing, "a weed is a plant whose virtues have yet to be discovered."
As I explore starting another chapter of my life it might look quite unlike the first. However if I can be in a small measure as successful as this weed's transformation I would be most pleased. Salsify is a role model for me!
