Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden

It was an unexpected bonus to discover a Barrred Owl at the Eloise Butler Wildflower garden.  I went to take pictures of the flowers, but discovered this stately bird perched on a branch nearby the walking trail.

Spring flowers and tree buds

I stopped by Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden yesterday to see if any flowers were starting to bloom.  The flowers above and below were the first and only blossoms I could find.  It was, however, just as interesting to see the tree buds. What creative designs!

Yellow Lady Slippers

On my way home from a meeting in South Minneapolis yesterday I pulled my bike over for a visit to the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden.  I had been by earlier in the year to photograph the early blooming flowers and was curious what might now be blooming.

While there I met a man who regularly takes pictures of the plants. He indicated you would have to come by almost daily to catch the vast variety of plants in their prime.

It was my good fortune to be there on the first day the Yellow Lady Slippers made their grand appearance. So glad I decided to take time out to make the side trip.

I enjoyed a visit to the Eloise Butler Wildflower garden earlier this week.  It was stunning to see the beautiful bright flowers emerging from underneath the oak leaves and other faded fall foliage.
