These two were basking together in the afternoon sun at Bassett Creek Park.

Canada Goose

There is a good reason that the Canada Goose is also called a "Honker".  They communicate regularly with others around them, even upon takeoff.

This Great Blue Heron put on quite a feathery show for the Hooded Merganser and Canada Goose... who seemed to be quite disinterested.

Growing goslings

The goslings at Bassett Creek Park are rapidly maturing.  Their distinctive head coloring is starting to appear.

Feathers as evidence

It appears the fox may have feasted on a Canada Goose.  A number of random feathers was all that was left behind.

The goslings are growing up.  It is fun to watch them explore the park, nearby their parent's watchful eyes.
