Researchers now believe that not all birds are hard wired to sing their songs. They've discovered that as songbirds birds learn to sing they develop neurons in their brains to learn the new vocalizations. This research provides a model for speech learning among humans. So while you might not be able to teach an old dog new tricks, we older humans just might still be capable of learning a new song. How's that for good news!?
I guess I will stick it out in the church choir for another year or two ;-)
